About Halo-Works
Welcome to HaloWorks!
Halo-Works, a small business owned and started by Maureen Harold, with her homeschooled children, began in 1992. Early on, while doing research on this Immemorial Custom, she found out that Nothing in any Vatican II document even referred to headcoverings--this mandate was never changed.
One thing led to another resulting in this company being started with the first mantillas made for herself and then the women in the parish, followed by a major Catholic store and then the decision to 'go public' in 1997. Halo-Works now offers a wide variety of orthodox Catholic handmade merchandise, made available to us through family-owned small businesses in the United States, Europe, and Mexico.
While some may say our prices are expensive, we suggest that they check out the competition. If a $10.00 "flying nun" veil made with 5 cent/yd lace is what is preferred, we are not the place to browse. If a good quality veil that will last for many years, feel good and look well while wearing is the goal, then this is the place to shop. We strive to keep our prices low and our apostolate basically 'breaks even' most years, though not all. We charge exact shipping--the rate quoted comes directly from the shipping company, whether it is the USPS for International or FedEx for Domestic--and we make no increase to accommodate for packing materials or labor.
